Eat First -Cheap chinese

Eat First
Chinatown
H Street NW, between 6 and 5th. Forty feet North from the Arch.

This place is a little hole in the wall; you are lured in by the huge sign out front "lunch starts at $3.99."
Chinese food tends to be cheap, but when is the last time you heard $3.99?
A bit skeptical 2 of my friends and I, walked in to this massively busy lunch hour place. The clientele mainly Chinese (good prospect already) and business people have group outings. We sat and we were promptly given fresh water and hot tea. I ordered the Shanghai Curry noodles. The waitress barely spoke English but she was kind and made a great effort to explain to my companions about their dishes inquiries.
The food came fast and hot. It was delicious, I was impressed that for little money I was getting so much food, and they definitively did not skimp the chicken, and in fact there were huge delicious chunks in it. There was so much I had to take half home. The dish was deliciously flavored with curry. Definitively your moneys worth for a fast Chinese when you have timed time from work. Our bill for three people came up to approximate $12. Incredible! We were all very content and I know our pockets were too.
My overall rating. For a fast non nonsense Chinese an 7.5, not a place to take your date, but the place for something fast and tasty. This is the place where eating DOES come first.
